- ItemEstrés postraumático y abuso sexual infantil: factores asociados en víctimas que asisten al Instituto Nacional de Medicina Legal y Ciencias Forenses, Bucaramanga 2007-2009(Universidad Industrial de Santander. Facultad de Salud, 2009) Ochoa Vera, Miguel Enrique; Orozco Vargas, Luis CarlosProspective case-control study conducted among informing victims of child sexual abuse aged 9 to 25 years who were evaluated by forensic psychiatry at the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, Nororiental regional office, in order to identify factors associated with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). A total of 217 victims (102 PTSD cases and 115 controls) were interviewed using a DSM-IV structured interview and a form that recorded sociodemographic data, history of maltreatment, characteristics of the abuse, relationship with the perpetrator and coercive strategies. Bivariate and multivariate analyses showed that psychological violence in the form of threats and physical violence were the factors most strongly associated with PTSD, whereas non-violent strategies such as bribe, deception and seduction presented protective associations. No statistically significant associations were found with the type of sexual act, the presence of penetration, the familial relationship with the perpetrator or the victim's sex. The study concludes that the perpetrator's coercive strategy has a greater impact on PTSD than the apparent severity of abuse, kinship or sociodemographic characteristics, highlighting the need to take these factors into account in clinical assessment and intervention.
